Dos Punts, Barcelona

Today, my friends, I'd like to talk about one of the most acclaimed craft shops of the moment here in Spain. A shop that got a special place in the podium thanks to the good choice and variety of materials and resources that they sell, and, of course, thanks to the charm of its owner, Alba.

One of the things I like the most about Dos Punts is the different accesories that you can find, like straps and fasteners for your pourses and all this kind of staff so precious for a crocheter. And all the gadgets that she has! You know all this things they sell for knitters and crocheters that you don't always need and most probably you don't even know what they are but you buy it anyway. I certainly buy everything, always.

Muchas esperabais este post nada más y nada menos que desde el verano, pero todo llega y además en un momento bien oportuno. Hoy, amigas, os vengo a hablar de una de las tiendas más aclamadas del momento en el mundo craft. Una tienda que ha sabido ganarse un puesto de honor gracias, entre otras cosas, a la buena elección y variedad de materiales y recursos y por supuesto a la simpatía de Alba y la comunidad que ha sabido crear.

Una de las cosas que más me gusta de Dos Punts son los miles y complementos que puedes encontrar tipo correas, cierres, cintas y demás soluciones, que son detalles a veces difíciles de encontrar y muy codiciados por las tejedoras. Y los gadgets, todas esas cositas para tejedoras que no se lo que son ni para que sirven pero me las compro siempre todas, tiene muchas y preciosas. 

Dos Punts is also famous for their windows decorations. They would change it every season and they're just wesome. You can see in the picture last summer theme. How cool is that? And I have to say, proud as a mum, that this year's Christmas theme is my very own Bertie Christmas. A lot of Berties climbing through the window. So cute I could die.

Otro de los motivos por los que Dos Punts se ha hecho famosa es por sus escaparates. Cada temporada cambian la decoración, con mucho amigurumi por en medio (como debe de ser) y son realmente llamativos. En la foto veis el de verano que fue espectacular, y ahora os tengo que comentar, orgullosa como una madre,  que el escaparate de Navidad está llevo de Bertie Christmas columpiándose por toda la ventana.

A pesar de llegar 6 meses tarde, llega justo a tiempo, ya que precisamente este fin de semana Dos Punts es noticia y de las buenas ya que organizan junto a Casa Sol una Pop Up en Barcelona donde, como de costumbre, podréis conocer los productos de primera mano y realizar talleres con Ameskeria, Knitting the Skyline, Susimiu, Santa Pazienzia y Iulia Cimpian.

Alba is wainting for you in 34, Horta Street, in Barcelona. But don't be sad if you can't visit, because they have a super nice online shop where you can find a lot of things they sell in the shop.

Alba os espera con los brazos abiertos en la C/ Horta nº34, en Barcelona. Pero si no estas cerca y no puedes pasar el día ahí metida como te gustaría, no sufras pequeña saltamontes, porque tiene una tienda online estupenda y maravillosa. Así que os acabo de apañar parte de los regalos de Navidad ?con lo que os acabo de decir, ¿a que si?

Uggy, the ugly sweater guy

We all have our unique and non-transferable relationship with Christmas festivities. There’re people who love them, 

there’re people who can’t stand them, those who like them for a couple of days but then get tired, those who get sad and also people who await Christmas with excitement. And then there is Uggy.

Todos tenemos nuestra relación única e intransferible con las fiestas navideñas. Hay quien las ama, hay quien no las soporta, a algunos les gustan un par de días pero luego les cansan, hay a quien le ponen triste y hay quien las espera con ilusión. Y luego está Uggy.

Uggy thinks about Christmas from January to December. Every year he designs and makes his own Christmas sweater, which he starts wearing proudly in mid-October. He owns the most stunning Christmas tree in the whole city and he is always up to date when it comes to Christmas ornaments. He is himself the creator of some of the latest trends in the recent years.

Uggy piensa en las navidades desde enero hasta diciembre. Cada año diseña y confecciona él mismo un jersey navideño que empieza a lucir con orgullo a mediados de octubre. Tiene el árbol más bonito de la ciudad y siempre está a la última en cuanto a adornos. Él mismo es el creador de alguna de las tendencias de los últimos años.

He knows the popular traditions, even from different countries, and tries to follow them all faithfully. Every day he takes cookies to his office, and in his car only carols are heard. He organises the Christmas dinner with his workmates, with his gym friends, with cousins and with old classmates. Every evening he attends to a different Christmas dinner, especially longing moment to wear his well-known reindeer antlers headbands and his Santa Claus hats full of sparkling stars.

Conoce todas las tradiciones, incluso de diferentes países, e intenta seguirlas todas fielmente. Todos los días lleva galletas a la oficina, y en su coche sólo se escuchan villancicos. Organiza cenas con compañeros de la empresa, con amigas del gimnasio, con los primos., con antiguos alumnos.. Cada día tiene una cena de Navidad, momento especialmente deseado para poder lucir sus famosas diademas de reno y sus gorros de Papá Noel con estrellas luminosas.

You know who I’m talking about, don’t you? Uggy is also part of your life. Uggy is that enthusiastic and cheerful person who instead of wasting their time looking for excuses to complain would rather make a party and dress up.
Intense and insistent, sometimes too much, but thanks to them you’ve enjoyed many funny moments which nobody else was willing to organise.

Hooray for Uggy, his willingness and attitude! Thanks Uggy for making life funnier to people around you!

¿Sabes de quién te hablo, verdad? Seguro que tú también tienes un Uggy en tu vida. Uggy es esa persona alegre y entusiasta que en vez de pasar el tiempo buscando excusas para quejarse, prefiere organizar una fiesta y disfrazarse.
Es intenso e insistente, a veces demasiado, pero gracias a él has disfrutado de muchos momentos divertidos que nadie más estaba dispuesto a organizar.
