Lil Weasel, Paris

Let's continue with our of crafts and yarns shop tour over Paris. Mini tour I'd say, actually. I don't know if you're ready for the colour blast that I bring today. I guess you can get the feeling through the pictures below. Once you enter this mini yarnspot is not easy to control yourself and not to roll around the walls and take pictures as in the American Beaty cover, among all the skeins. 

Lil Weasel is located in one of those typical shopping galleries of Paris. Besides this shop you'll find there other charming establishments such as antique shops, boutiques and jewelry workshops. A true beauty. And at the end, the climax, announced by a nice collection of crochet garlands hanging from side to side.

Seguimos con el periplo por París, descubriendo tiendas y espacios bonitos  No se si estáis preparadas para la explosión de color que os traigo hoy. Creo que en las fotos queda bien reflejada la sensación que se experimenta al entrar en este minirincón lanero. Es difícil controlarse para no revolcarse directamente por las paredes, y hacerse fotos en plan portada de American Beauty, rodeada de ovillos. (No creo que me dejasen las chicas, por muy simpáticas que sean). Pero bueno, me conformé con hacer muchas fotos para poder mirarlas de vez en cuando y alegrarme el día.

Lil Weasel  está situada en unas de las típicas galerías comerciales de París. Además de esta tienda encontrarás pequeñas tiendas de antigüedades, boutiques y talleres de joyería. Todo en si es un primor. Y como remate final, una sucesión de guirnaldas de ganchillo de punta a punta, te señalan el punto hacia donde te quieres dirigir. El punto sin  retorno... Quien entra no sale.

My words are worthless next to these pictures. THERE ARE A LOT OF YARNS. I MEAN, A LOT. Lots of brands, lots of colours, textures, qualities. I've never seen such amount of yarns in such a small place.

And this is only the yarn section, because, ladies and gentlemen, on the other side of the boulevard, there is a whole other shop with sewing materials, fabrics and so on. They also host all kind of sewing, knitting and crochetting workshops.

Las fotos realmente lo dicen todo, mis palabras sobran. HAY MUCHAS LANAS. MUCHAS. De muchas marcas, muchos colores, muchas texturas, muchas calidades. Nunca vi tanta lana en tan poco espacio.

Y ésto es sólo el apartado de lanas, que es el único que visité, ya que luego tienen otro local repleto de todo tipo de accesorios de labores y donde también realizan cursos de costura, ganchillo, calceta, DIY...

La Droguerie, Paris

It was about time for me to talk about my last visit to crafts and yarn shops in Paris. There are many yummy options in the city, but since we only had a few days, a lot of places to visit, and my boyfriend patience is not endless, I decided to visit just two. And I have to admit that, as usual, I hit the target.

Tenía pendiente hablaros de mis visitas laneras en París. Son muchas las opciones y tentaciones que nos ofrece la ciudad a las amantes insaciables de las lanas, pero por falta de tiempo y por no agotar la paciencia de mi santo novio, quien me suele acompañar en estas incursiones, tuve que limitarme a un par de ellas. Las más cercanas al circuito turístico que habíamos planeado. Y, como de costumbre, acerté de pleno en la elección.

LA DROGUERIE

La Droguerie has this vintage air, with its old counters and shelves, surrounded by boxes, jars, fabrics and fybers. But despite of the antique look, you'll find there both the most classical materials and the latest fashion in the craft world. It's the closest I've ever felt to Alice entering into the Wonderland.

La Droguerie tiene ese saborcillo a mercería de toda la vida, con la particularidad de que mezcla lo más tradicional con el último grito en el mundo craft. Nada más entrar te encuentras rodeada de mostradores, estanterías, muebles antiguos, cajas, botes... lo más cerca que me he sentido nunca de Alicia entrando en el País de las Maravillas.

They sell there a huge variety of local yarns and fibers, actually it's the only yarn they have, they don't sell commercial brands. Thousands of multicolor jars with beads, stones, sets and cabochons still shining in my head when I close my eyes.

Tienen una muy amplia gama de lanas locales, de hecho son las únicas que venden, con texturas y tintes únicos. Los cientos de botes de cristal repletos de cuentas, engarces, piedras y abalorios aún resuenan en mi cabeza cuando cierro los ojos.

La Droguerie is on 9-11, Rue du Jour, not too far from some of the most common touristic routes, so you can easily drag your companions to go with with you and wait outside while you delight among its desks.

La Droguerie se encuentra en el número 9-11 de la Rue du Jour, no demasiado lejos de las rutas turísticas, por lo que podrás arrastrar fácilmente a tus acompañantes para que vayan contigo y esperen mientras tú te deleitas entre sus mostradores.

Conchita goes to Paris

It might be worldwide known so far that Conchita and I have been to Paris lately. I've made my way to let you know that by land, sea and air. But, please , let me share with you, one more time, some photographic moments that I cherish very much.

Que Conchita y yo hemos pasado unos días en París ya lo sabéis, porque lo he publicado por tierra, mar y aire, sólo me ha faltado el BOE. Pero, por favor, permitidme que una vez más comparta con vosotras estos bellos recuerdos fotográficos de estos días, en los que las dos hemos disfrutado como enanas.

Paris is so... so Paris, and Conchita is so... so Conchita that I truly believe that they're the perfect match. I don't know why exactly, but it's like they're made for each other and they're meant to be together.

Is it because their sofisticated ways? The romanticism, maybe? Or their passion about pastries? (Please don't mention croissants nor crêpes in front of me for a while) Whatever it may be, the conection is obvious and I have the feeling that this won't be the last time that Conchita will be face to face with the Eiffel Tower.

París es tan.... tan París, y Conchita es tan... tan Conchita que, sinceramente, he sentido que estaban hechas la una para la otra. No se muy bien porqué, pero ambas encajan perfectamente.

Será ese aire sofisticado? O quizá el romanticismo? O esa pasión por la repostería? (No me habléis de croissants ni crêpes en un tiempo, por favor) Sea lo que sea, la conexión está ahí, y sospecho que esta no será la única visita que Conchita realice a la Torre Eiffel.

You know how fond I'm of travelling with amigurumis in my pockets, making pictures everywhere I go. People look at me and my boyfriend acts as if he doesn't know me at all, but I have so much fun, and I treasure wonderful mementos such as these.

Ya sabéis que a mi me va lo de viajar con muñecos en los bolsillos, haciendo fotos. La gente me mira raro y mi novio se aleja así como si no me conociese, pero yo me lo paso muy bien y atesoro recuerdos preciosos como estos.

Just in case you're planning to go to paris, don't forget bringing your Conchita with you, How? Easy! Buy the pattern and crochet yourself one! She doesn't have to pay a ticket and she speaks French wonderfully, which will be very helpful for you. 

Not only she will travel with you, but also she will be the best companion for those cozy crochet-blanket afternoons netx winter. And if you're lucky she may bake a cake for you. Sounds like a plan.

Si por casualidad tienes planeado un viaje a París, no olvides llevar una Conchita contigo. Cómo? Pues haciéndote con el patrón y tejiéndote una! No paga billete en el avión y habla un francés perfecto que te sacará de más de un apuro.

Además de acompañarte en tu viaje, luego te acompañará en tus tardes de agujas, manta y sofá, que es lo que más le gusta. Y si tienes suerte te preparará un bizcocho.
